Towards Eternity looks at aspects of the ways God’s self-revelation as Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ informs our journey of endeavouring to live in love and hope by faith, and with joy as the people of God. Towards Eternity was written in the belief that the stories recounted by the Bible’s authors provide valuable insights into trusting God and living meaningful and fruitful lives in ever-changing communities.

Towards Eternity includes study series and some additional reflections. They are invitations for further exploration of their thoughts and themes by considering social, historical and theological contexts, forms of narrative and literature, and the reader’s own experiences of life and faith. One cross: seven sayings contemplates Jesus’ words using several perspectives. One of the Good Friday Meditations on Jesus’ crucifixion – Here is my Servant – considers the servant songs from Isaiah while the other two (Entering Paradise and For the joy set before him) reflect on anticipations resulting from Jesus’ crucifixion. From grave to glory focuses Jesus’ post- resurrection appearances using three main themes: Living in the resurrection looks mainly at Matthew’s Gospel; Clothed with power from on high at Luke’s Gospel and the book of Acts; and As the Father sent me at the narrative in John’s Gospel. This collection finishes with several related Reflections.
